History of the Practice:Marv Garland graduated from Portland State University in 1969, and was admitted to Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in the fall of 1969. After receiving his Juris Doctor Degree in 1973, he was admitted to the Oregon State Bar and began practice of law in Hillsboro, Oregon. As his practice grew, the size of the firm grew as well. He established his practice at the present location in 1987, as a sole practitioner, and the firm quickly grew to as many as eleven attorneys. The firm has historically been active in and supported a host of community organizations: Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, Hillsboro Air Show, Tuesday Market, HART Theatre, Tualatin Valley Community TV, Washington Co. Visitors’ Assoc., Domestic Violence Resource Center and others. Not yet ready to retire, Marv has recently decided to continue his practice along with a former long-time shareholder, Dennis Griffiths who now has retired as of July, 2011. Since his retirement, Attorney Ben Knaupp has joined the firm. His website is www.lawyerben.com. The Firm is now known as Garland Griffiths Knaupp Attorneys.
